Many play, occupational and psycho therapists have studied with me over the years. Stories have the power to heal. The connection between listener and teller creating relationships and fostering self-reliance and self-referral. Add movement and yoga and you get Storytime Yoga® Kids Yoga Play Therapy.
One of the teachers who trained with me was Michele Bourgeois, a school councelor in Boulder Valley Schools. She invited me in 2010 to teach during a school Haitian Relief Fundraiser Lyons, Colorado Elementary School kids were doing.
We did the Peddler's Dream from Storytime Yoga® and learned about being our own hero and to help others. Michelle has used her training in using stories and yoga in other therapeutic ways, especially when flooding hit the area in 2013 and devastated residents and kids. She used Warrior's Journey from my book Storytime Yoga®: Teaching Yoga to Children Through Story and worked with Artist Peggy Dyer to help the kids overcome the trauma.
I maintain stories and articles for therapists and anyone else who wants to use the healing power or oral storytelling here.
Many are on suicide prevention, managing ADHD and helping heal trauma, personal experiences in my life and family and personal testimonials to the healing power of yoga and stories.
