SakshiGreetings Yogis & Yoginis,

This year, I am presenting each month a song or story featured on my new album for children “Sakshi & Travis Presents: Storytime Yoga® Music & Stories.”  I have been working on this musical and storytelling project for over a year and am very happy to present it to all of you around the world.

This month's story/song is called "The Child of Wax."  It is one of my favorite stories from Sydney Solis' Storytime™ Yoga book. It is about a child who follows his hearts desire to be in the Sunshine despite his challenge of being made of wax, along with his brothers and sisters. If he is exposed to the sun he risks his very life, but the desire for freedom and liberation are so strong in him that his risks it anyway and thus something miraculous happens which becomes a great blessing for him and his family. You'll have to listen to the story to find out what happens! But the wisdom of this story is about sacrifices we make for true freedom, following our dreams, our intuitions, and how by doing so, though there may be some risk, a great reward is there in the end for staying true to oneself.

This month I am sharing two tracks from the album because they go together. First is a dramatic retelling of the story "Child of Wax," from Sydney's version with backing music and sound effects. I sampled Bob Marley's "Sun is Shining" song to add to the sunny vibe of the story. The second track is a little acoustic song I made which again retells the story in a fun and simple way that anyone could sing. This song features me on guitar, vocals and shakers and my daughter Ocean sings on it too. This song is so easy and catchy that it can easily be incorporated into a Storytime Yoga class after the telling of the story. I hope you enjoy it and have fun!

Namaste, Sakshi
