Starting the Ayurvedic Cleanse
Food and nutrition is big in my book, not only for yourself, but your children. We can skip the fear and anxiety over health care bills and insurance, if we simply take everyday steps to keep ourselves healthy.
I’m back to my hot yoga practice, now that winter restoratives are over and spring is here. Cleansing is a great ritual.
I visited my ayurvedic physician today, my best health insurance! While cleansing is not necessary for young children, I’ve pumped up their awareness of fresh food, and cut out dairy and heavy carbs, and focusing on light fish, vegetables, light soups and a yummy yogurt lassi that my sister, Narada, taught me to make. She’s been a Hare Krishna devotee for more than 30 years, and it’s a delight to get to spend time with her now that she’s moved back from India and is staying at the Denver temple. Just eating Krishna food is spiritual experience in itself! She also gave me some great tips on homeschooling.
I am gathering up all my ingredients for my tri-dosha constitution. To make Vata tea, Kichari, Ojas drinks, and to use oil and bathing as well as some castor oil to clean it all out! I’m excited, as I’m quite the ayurvedic devotee. I’ve been seeing her for nearly four years. It takes time to change all those nasty American Capitalist consumption habits we have been indoctrinated with since chidhood, but trying new tastes of herbs, vitamins, foods and attitude has changed my life for the better. I have never been happier, healthier or more abundant in my life! Things are cooking! And cleaning!

Namaste and have a Magical Day!
