Do not train children to learning by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.?– Plato
I’m getting excited for the upcoming Storytime Yoga children’s camp at Kripalu July 9-18. It is the highest calling to work with children, who are our future yogis, scientists, environmentalists, government, artists, educators and beyond. Truly you control the future when you touch children’s lives and there is no better reason to work with them!
Come and spend time at Kripalu. Take a class with Shiva Rea, who is concurrently teaching with the kids camp. Sakshi, of Storytime Yoga Indiana, will be assisting me as we frolic in music, story, nature, yoga, meditation, art, peace, joy and community! visit this link to hear a podcast by Sydney on imagination, children and yoga! http://www.kripalu.org/article/749?utm_source=kol&utm_medium=email&utm_content=podcast&utm_campaign=may2010kol
It’s going to be an amazing summer, as we are charged with guiding children to their inner source and connect their minds, hearts and bodies for a better world.
Storytime Yoga is body-centered education, focusing on classical elements of education using narrative and integrated, multidisciplinary learning through play. Your child probably isn’t ADHD or bipolar, he’s just special, talented, and maybe even bored in regular school where it’s a “race to the top” mentality of rational test scores that exclude the creative mind and body.
So come and play the Storytime yoga Way!
